TACTICAL REVIEW

The Narrative
The Reserves faced a tough trip to Uppermill today, finishing with a scoreline that truly didn't reflect the high level of performance and effort put in by the lads. After taking an early lead and battling back to level the score in the second half, a late surge from the hosts saw the game end 5-2. Despite the result, the team showed incredible spirit and played some of their best football of the season.
Team Performance
The lads started with great discipline and a solid shape that limited Uppermill to speculative shots from distance. The midfield transition was sharp, leading to our opening goal, and even after falling behind, the team showed massive character to fight back and equaliser early in the second half. A brief lapse in concentration and a clinical top-corner strike from the opposition shifted the momentum late on, but the battle levels remained high until the final whistle.
Standout Moments
The Goals: Harry Maguire opened the scoring midway through the first half with some clinical play. In the second half, Marcus Young pulled us level with a stunning header at the back post, perfectly looping the ball over the keeper.

The "Gaffer" in Goal: A massive special mention to manager Adam Walmsley. At 40 years young, Adam stepped up to put the gloves on due to a keeper shortage and pulled off a string of fantastic saves to keep the lads in the contest.

Man of the Match: Oresti Litsi took home the honours for a dominant and tireless display across the pitch.

Defensive Grit: Despite a "pinball" goal-mouth scramble and a scruffy third, the defensive unit worked tirelessly against heavy Uppermill pressure.
