Today was a tough cup battle away from home that ended in a 3-1 defeat against a clinical Astley Bridge side. While the result wasn't in our favour, the girls played with massive heart and created a wealth of opportunities. Our goal came from a brilliant piece of play finished off by Olivia. It was a game of "what ifs," as we created enough chances to take the win, but today just wasn't our day in front of goal.

The performance today was incredibly encouraging despite the scoreline. The girls showed great resilience and dominated large spells of the game, consistently breaking through the opposition's lines. While missing those chances gave Astley Bridge the drive they needed to clinicalise their own breaks, our general play remained high-quality. We view this as a vital learning curve; we’ll be taking these lessons back to the training pitch to sharpen our finishing and come back even stronger for the next match.
