TACTICAL REVIEW
The Narrative
THE COMEBACK QUEENS! Our Radcliffe Town U13 Girls produced a performance for the ages this morning. Facing an almighty mountain to climb with only 9 players available due to sickness and injury, the girls overcame a numerical disadvantage and a 1-0 deficit to secure a breathtaking 2-1 victory in the final minutes of the game.
Team Performance
The "Radcliffe Spirit" was on full display today. Despite playing against a full squad of 11, the girls controlled the play early on with composed ball movement. Even after falling behind at the 30-minute mark, the team’s belief never wavered. A vital tactical reshuffle in the second half—moving Kaitlyn into defence and pushing Evie G into midfield—provided the spark needed for the late surge. The fitness and determination shown to outwork a larger squad in the closing stages was an incredible achievement.
Standout Moments
The match reached a fever pitch in the final three minutes. With the clock ticking down, the team committed everyone forward for a corner, including goalkeeper Sophia.
The Equaliser: Faye whipped in a dangerous ball, and Ella reacted quickest in a crowded box to poke it home.
The Winner: Moments later, Evie G worked magic in midfield, driving into the box to bury an absolute rocket into the top left corner, completing the dramatic turnaround.
The individual awards reflected a day where every player gave 110%:

Ariella – For a rock-solid defensive display in the second half.
